One of the best parts about being an author is the book signings. No, I’m not craving paparazzi-like attention or flocks of screaming fans! Instead, I simply like to get out and meet new people. Luckily, my signing at The Pantry in Clacton-on-Sea on March 16th offered me a chance to do just that!
I’ve done quite a bit of promotional work for Dangerous, but it never gets old. Every time I get out and take a new step forward with the book, I have a combination of nervous butterflies in my stomach and pure excitement swooshing through my veins. It’s a rush (and a learning experience) that I can’t compare to anything else!
This most recent book signing was particularly special, though, as there were a few people from Barking and Dagenham in attendance. Talking to them about the “good ol’ days” made me realise just how far I’ve come – and how many goals I still have left to accomplish. I can’t help but dream about having giant book signings in Watersones or WHSmiths and being a best-selling author one day!
Reminiscing about the past was so much fun, but now I’m going to turn my attention to the future – by planning ahead, getting organised, and doing whatever I can to make my dreams come true!
So, if you see me out at a signing or some other event, come up and say “hi”! Just be warned – I may spill a latte on you (as one of the coffee-soaked books at The Pantry can attest to!). All kidding aside, though, learn from my experiences. You can achieve anything, so keep working towards your goals . . . I certainly plan to!
