If this was a video blog, you’d see me doing cartwheels and dancing on the roof tops right about now, because the first draft of my third book is finished! My goal was to get it done by the end of June, and I can’t tell you how good it feels to officially accomplish it!
Of course, that doesn’t mean that the book is actually done. There’s still a lot that has to be done behind the scenes before the book is ready for you to read it.
First, I’ve got to sit down with my editor, Don. We’ll go through the book together and figure out what kinds of finishing touches need to be added. Even though this will be the third time I’ve stepped onto this editing “ride”, I’m still scared of it. I feel great about the story I’ve created, but there are still a few doubts creeping their way into my head.
Even after Don and I finish the editing, there will still be plenty more behind-the-scenes work to do. After all, you can’t release a book until you’ve formatted it, come up with a special launch for it, and created an entire marketing strategy for it! Luckily, my marketing expert, Wendy, is an absolute lifesaver. She handles all of those details so that I can concentrate solely on the book itself.
So, everything is moving along exactly how I pictured it! I’m so excited to share this third book with you. You have been with me through it all from the beginning. It’s been one heck of a ride — and we still have a way to go — but seeing you dive into this book will be well worth all of the work, stress, and fears!
