Whether you’re getting your little one ready for her first day of school, or you’re looking for your first job after graduation, I’ve always associated the month of July with opportunity. Over the summer, you get to think about the steps you’re about to take forward and reflect on the accomplishments you’ve already got under your belt.
Of course, that opportunity extends to relaxation, too! Fun summer holidays, walks along the coastline, a change of surroundings… July has something for everyone!
I’ve got plenty of my own opportunities this July. The higher the temperature gets (and it certainly has been hot this summer!), the “hotter” things get for my next book. The closer I get to writing “The End”, the more I feel like an 11-year-old getting ready for secondary school. It’s a bundle of apprehension and excitement all rolled into one!
Whatever YOU’RE planning on doing this summer, enjoy it! If you’re seeking employment, I have my fingers crossed for you. If you’re going on a fun holiday, I wish you safe travels. If you’re heading off to school, I wish you a successful and exciting future. If you’re getting your baby ready to head off to school for the very first time, I know from experience that you’re in for a tear-jerker!
Through it all, though, promise yourself that you’re going to make the most out of every single day. The sunshine doesn’t always stay for a long time, so you have to enjoy it while it’s here. After all, before you know it, we’ll be singing Christmas carols!
