After all the slaving away I’ve been doing to make the finishing touches on my second book, it’s time for some fun! I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been invited to take part in the Get Barking and Dagenham Reading Festival!
While it’s always exciting to get out from behind the computer screen and meet fans and fellow book lovers face-to-face, this year’s festival is extra-special for me. Specifically, it’s a good reminder of everything I’ve accomplished over the past year! I was honoured to take part in this event last year. In fact, it was my very first event as an author. When I went to the festival last year, Dangerous hadn’t even been released yet.
Now look where I am!
Not only am I polishing off my second book and coming up with great ideas for my third book, I’m apparently the festival’s star author! Talk about a whirlwind of a year!
This time last year, I was so excited to finish up Dangerous and realise the first part of my dream of becoming a successful author. Since then, I’ve taken so many steps towards accomplishing the rest of my dream. I was a jumble of nerves and excitement at last year’s festival, and this year, I feel a lot more polished. Of course, there are plenty of nerves surrounding my next book release, but I’ve learned so much in the past year that they’re easier to deal with. It just goes to show you — time really does fly when you’re having fun!
If you’re in town, I’d love to see you at the festival. I’ll be at the Dagenham Library on Friday, October 25th, from 7-9 PM. Personally, I can’t think of a better way to spend a Friday night!
